The Work Comes First
The Internationalist Awards were created to recognize marketing ideas that work — strategically, creatively and measurably.
That is why our judging process is deliberately different.
Entries are evaluated anonymously by senior client-side marketers. Judges do not know which agency or organization submitted the work. They assess what is in front of them: the challenge, the thinking behind the solution, how well it was executed and, importantly, what happened as a result.
Strategy. Execution. Results.
Across The Internationalist Awards, these principles remain at the heart of evaluation.
Strategy
Did the work begin with a clear understanding of the challenge and a strong idea for addressing it?
Execution
Was that strategy brought to life intelligently and effectively across markets, audiences, media, technology or partnerships?
Results
What changed? Did the work deliver meaningful, measurable outcomes against its objectives?
Creativity matters. Innovation matters. But neither exists in isolation. We believe exceptional marketing connects strong thinking with excellent execution and demonstrable results.
Why Marketers Judge
The Internationalist has always been about the people responsible for making marketing work across markets, cultures and organizations.
Our judges bring that same perspective to the Awards. They are experienced marketers who understand the decisions, trade-offs, pressures and responsibilities behind the work.
Anonymous judging also helps ensure that the work comes before the reputation attached to it.
A famous agency name cannot strengthen an entry. A lesser-known company is not disadvantaged by its size. Judges evaluate the case presented to them and the evidence supporting it.
Global Recognition
The Internationalist Awards are also recognized by RECMA, the independent global research company that has evaluated media agencies for more than three decades.
RECMA currently takes into account The Internationalist Awards for Media Innovation, Innovative Digital Marketing Solutions and AI for Better Marketing as part of its qualitative agency evaluations.
Benjamin Lelong, RECMA Managing Director and Head of Research, confirms that The Internationalist Awards are considered global awards and “carry significant weight in RECMA’s evaluation.”
Marketing Makes a World of Difference is also being considered for future inclusion.
Recognition With a Purpose
Winning an Internationalist Award is not simply about collecting another accolade.
It means experienced marketers have examined the work on its merits and found something worth recognizing — in the strategy, the execution, the results, or the way the work advances what marketing can accomplish.
And increasingly, that is where another part of our work begins.
Winning cases help The Internationalist identify the patterns, shifts and ideas shaping marketing today — insights we explore through our editorial platforms and, beginning in 2027, through a new annual book from Internationalist Press.
